Brunching at Bloomberg Arcade

Brunch is so huge right now. I feel like Carrie Bradshaw would be very proud of all that she achieved for the popularity of this meal. As you probably know (or not if you are new to here) Brunch must contain breakfast dishes… If there are no eggs, no toast, no waffles, no porridge or no pastries IT'S NOT BRUNCH. It’s just a lunch.

Now that we have cleared that up, brunch is a huge business in London. Everyone offers it, everyone eats it, heck there is even a festival about it. Don’t ask me why you’d pay for a ticket to walk around in crowds to see a bunch of exhibitions stands and eat a taster spoon of Shakshuka. Just look on the internet and see where to go. Sorry I digress.

One place that I would highly recommend for brunch is the Bloomberg Arcade. Nope, it’s not a restaurant, but more of an arcade of top quality restaurants in the city. I bet you are asking why I’m suggesting Bloomberg Arcade. It’s all about the location. Being situated in the city it is busy Monday to Friday with men in suits and women power lunching over cocktails. Come the weekend it’s a different story altogether. I’m not saying its desolate, but you won’t have to queue for an impromptu brunch.

Location wise it’s a doddle to navigate to at the weekend. Its sandwiched between Bank and Cannon Street Station giving you loads of transpiration links.

Caravan

Caravan

Caravan is a London Brunch institution. With 5 locations across London, the Bloomberg Arcade is the easiest to walk in for a table on the weekend. They do some of my favourite brunch dishes in London. The green eggs are a dream for anyone that are looking to curb the carbs at brunch. Their house roasted coffee is top notch too!

Vinoteca

Vinoteca

Everyone knows Vintoeca for its incredible selection of wine and small plates. What people don’t know is they do a brilliant brunch menu to go with all those wines. Baked eggs, Burrata and tomato’s and Avocado toast with feta all delish! I really love how spacious and how the room is flooded with natural light. I like my brunch with a side of natural light. Don’t you?

Ekte

Ekte

Scandi is so cool right now with its clean line aesthetic. The cuisine is pretty hot too. Ekte do a brilliant take on Scandi brunch with these moreish potato pancakes that are topped with salmon and spinach, avocado or bacon with lingonberry jam. You would be a fool to not get a cinnamon bun just for the ultimate hygge brunch.

Brigadiers

Brigadiers

Is there nothing that the JKS group can’t do? They have managed to turn a purpose-built restaurant shell and turn it into some sort of 1930’s Raj-themed Casino complete with a pool room. Even though it’s been built with the city boy in mind… I really love the space and the menu. They don’t have a brunch menu per se, but there are brunchy dishes on the menu and a few egg dishes. With espresso martinis on tap, what’s not to love?

Koya

Koya

Unfortunately, this branch of Koya do not do the Breakfast udon, but there are eggs a plenty. So, I might bend the rules and include this city outpost in this round up. I’m a huge fan of this branch. Its spacious, well-lit and at the weekends you never have to wait in a queue for those fat noodles.
